Intergenerational ICT Skills

The project aims at exploring and developing models for learning opportunities between generations of disadvantaged target groups, and at promoting the motivation of older people for acquiring basic understanding of ICT through an intergenerational transfer of skills.

A good vehicle for this transfer could be the method of interviewing. Older people are generally very keen to tell stories from their life. If they are interviewed, e.g. by their grandchildren, who record the interview and edit a “story” at their computer, they will become interested how  this works and loose their fear of this new technology. They might even become proud when they will see the result of the joint efforts at the project’s website, where we will provide an internet blog for these works.
